How To Get White Clothes Back White

Even with the best laundry routines, keeping white clothes looking white can be difficult. Luckily, there are several methods you can use to pre-treat your clothes and soak them to remove stains, such as baking soda or stain-fighting spray. Can use. When you wash your white clothes, always keep them separate from colored clothes. To get the best results, use a little vinegar along with your normal detergent.

Using Pre-Soak To Keep Whites Bright

1. For a whitening, deodorizing treatment, mix baking soda with lukewarm water:

Take 1 cup (180 grams) of baking soda and mix it with 4 liters of lukewarm water. Use a plastic tub, washtub, or similar object that is large enough to hold your clothes. Before washing your clothes normally, soak them in the baking soda mixture for about 8 hours.

Set an alarm on your phone so you don’t forget and don’t leave your clothes soaking in water for too long.

Tip: Make a baking soda paste to rub on yellowed areas, such as the armpits or collars of white shirts. Mix 4 teaspoons (18 grams) of baking soda with 1⁄4 cup (59 mL) of water. Use a toothbrush or something similar to rub this paste on the stained area and leave it for 1 hour.

2. Use lemon juice for a thorough pre-soak option:

Cut up 2 large lemons and put them in a large pot of water. Let the lemon simmer for 5 minutes and then remove the pot from the burner. Put the white clothes in the pot and let them sit for 1 hour.

Lemon not only whitens your clothes, but it also makes your kitchen fragrant.

Be very careful when putting clothes in the pot, so that you don’t accidentally burn yourself. Use a wooden spoon or other similar object to press the clothes down into the pot so they are completely soaked.

3. Choose a laundry detergent for a simple way to soak white clothes:

Pour about 1⁄4 cup (59 mL) of laundry detergent or powder into a sink filled with lukewarm water. Put your white clothes in the sink and then let them soak for 2 hours.

Knowing how to use laundry detergent as a pre-soak is a great option when you don’t have any other options.

4. To make cotton clothes brighter, soak them in water mixed with bleach:

Always wear rubber gloves when working with bleach and be careful not to get it near your eyes. Mix 1⁄4 cup (59 mL) with 3.8 L of water in a washtub or basin. Put your clothes in the tub and let them soak for 5-10 minutes. After the time is up, drain the water and wash your white clothes as you normally would.

Set a timer so you don’t leave your clothes in the bleach mixture for too long. This will actually start to break down the fabric and even ruin your garment.

5. Treat the stain with a mixture of borax and liquid laundry detergent:

Borax is also called sodium borate. Mix about 4 teaspoons (18 grams) of borax with 1⁄4 cup (59 mL) of water in a small bowl. Use a toothbrush to rub this paste on the stained area and leave it for 1 hour before washing your white clothes.

This method works well for coffee stains that are extremely brown or yellow in color.

6. Use a commercial stain-treating spray for a simple, quick stain remover:

Commercial products are nice because they don’t require you to mix or measure anything. For best results, use a “for whites” spray, and be sure to read the instructions on the back of the bottle before using. Typically, you want to saturate the stain with the spray and leave it for at least 15-20 minutes before washing it off.

Some sprays can’t be used on certain types of fabrics, so be sure to read the restrictions on the bottle so you don’t accidentally ruin any clothes.

Washing Clothes With White Vinegar

1. Keep your white clothes separate from colored clothes:

When you’re doing laundry, take time to sort through all of your dirty clothes. Keep colored clothes in one basket and all the white clothes in another basket. Don’t forget socks, underwear, towels, and undershirts.

Washing white stripe clothes can be a little confusing, as they are often always dark and light. The good thing is, you can add these to each batch, as long as you take a few precautions: If you’re using bleach, don’t wash them with your white clothes; If it contains dark indigo jeans, black sweatshirt or red clothes, do not wash it with them.

2. Mix fabric softener with 1⁄2 cup (120 mL) of white vinegar:

Most washing machines have a special compartment for fabric softener, but it can also be used for white vinegar. Use a measuring cup to make sure you are using the correct amount in your laundry machine.

Don’t worry, vinegar won’t make your clothes stink.
Do not use bleach directly while washing your white clothes. Excessive use of bleach actually turns your clothes yellow. Also, it is advisable to use it only on white clothes made of cotton.

Warning: Never use bleach and vinegar together. These react when mixed together and form harmful steam.

3. Add laundry detergent to the washing machine:

Use your normal amount of clothes and load size for the clothes you are washing. Depending on how you want to do it, you can turn on the water and add the detergent before putting the clothes in the machine; Or you can add the clothes and then turn on the water and detergent.

For best results, use a detergent that contains optical brighteners. These can make your clothes more light and bright.

Tip: Always use the correct amount of laundry detergent according to the instructions on the bottle. Using too little or too much can actually bleach your clothes over time.

4. Use hot water and run the load of laundry as you normally would:

Once your washing machine is ready with white vinegar, laundry detergent, and clothes, you can proceed as you normally would. Hot water will help well in removing stains from your clothes.

Use cold water for colored clothes, as hot water gradually lightens the color. For this reason, it is good for you to choose hot water for white clothes.

5. Make sure the stains are out before putting your clothes in the dryer:

If you put stained clothing in the dryer, the heat will set the stain into the fabric, making it more difficult to remove. Check for remaining stains and repeat your preferred stain-treatment method. Before drying the cloth, wash it and check it again.

Fabrics with some larger stains will need to be treated and washed 2-3 times, especially for grass, wine or coffee stains.

6. To keep your white clothes in good condition, use low heat or hang dry them:

If you’re using a dryer, choose the low-heat setting. If you can, hang your clothes to dry, either outside or on a drying rack. This is the least wasteful way to dry your clothes, as it is the most gentle option and doesn’t stretch your fibers as much as the dryer would.

This may seem like a lot of work, but before you know it, it will become a habit to wash your white clothes separately from your colored clothes. And your clothes will keep looking better for longer!
