Moved by Veeravati’s sincere repentance, Goddess Parvati appeared before her. The goddess told Veeravati that if she faithfully observed the Karva Chauth fast again, with unwavering devotion, her husband’s life would be spared. Filled with hope and determination, Veeravati resumed her fast with deep devotion and performed all the rituals as prescribed.
Due to her dedication and the blessings of the goddess, her husband was revived and returned to full health. From that day forward, Veeravati observed Karva Chauth every year with complete faith, and her husband lived a long, prosperous life.

Another popular legend associated with Karva Chauth is the story of a woman named Karva. Karva was a devoted wife who loved her husband deeply. One day, while her husband was bathing in a river, he was attacked by a crocodile. Seeing her husband in danger, Karva rushed to his aid and bound the crocodile with cotton thread through her unwavering devotion and power.
She prayed intensely to Lord Yama, the god of death, asking him to send the crocodile to hell. However, Yama initially hesitated and refused to do so. Undeterred, Karva threatened to curse Yama, leading him to reconsider. Impressed by her loyalty and determination, Yama granted her wish and sent the crocodile to hell, sparing her husband’s life.
